I have produced an e-book open to the public, which can also be used as a teaching manual. Based on the creation of "multimedia teaching material design", I have remixed a lot of material from open resources to re-create Chang Wan-Ju's unpublished picture book, which was named “Self-Healing of a Teenager: A Picture Book Adapted from Ghost Slayer by Gan Yaoming.” The process of recreation goes as follows: In 2016, Chang condensed Gan Yaoming’s 300,000-word novel Ghosts Slayer (published in 2005) into a juvenile book of about 10,000 words, adding to the book 20 illustrations all done by herself. It was designed for teenagers aged between 11 and 15. My job was to use Pressbooks as a tool to recompile the content of Chang’s work, adding audiovisual and web link functions, cc-authorized historical pictures, handmade GIS positioning images, after-class evaluation, Hakka sound recitation, etc. As a result, it has become a wonderful open resource for those who are teaching or learning Hakka language in Taiwan. The content of this e-book mainly consists of 3 chapters and 27 sections, following Chang’s text. My contribution is to redesign the content of the three chapters by supplying geographic information, videos, related photos or graphics files to add to the layout design. Moreover, the important geographical, historical and conceptual phrases related to the Hakka ethnic groups are selected and annotated in detail. Readers can have the free access to my e-book by the URL https://kuangchih.pressbooks.com .
