This study aims to understand the status of the visual arts teaching of kindergarten in Miaoli County.Through referencing literatures of related topics, a questionnaire was developed, this study adopted a purposive sampling method and selected the educators working for preschools in Miaoli County, such as teachers, educare givers and educare assistants, as the study participants. The study also compiled the “Investigation on the Status of Miaoli County Kindergarten teaching visual arts” as the research tool.A total of 534 copies of the questionnaire were distributed, and 448 of them were returned, and 419 of them were solid (the responding rate is 84%, and valid responding rate is 78.5%). The data were analyzed using SPSS for mean, standard deviation, t-test, and one-way ANOVA, and open questions were applied to support the assessment results. According to the analytic results, there are conclusions as follows: 1、Preschool educators exhibited good performance in currentinstruction practices in the visual arts teaching of kindergarten, especially when it came to contents of instruction is the best-performing, followed by teaching and learning principles and methods,then followed the teaching and learning environments and resources,then followed by the teaching and learning assessments, the final is teaching and learning troubleds. 2、Factors such as public and private kindergartens, gender, highest level of education, curriculum model background will not had an influence on the current instruction practices by preschool educators in the visual arts teaching of kindergarten. 3、Factors such as years of teaching experience, age, early childhood education professional background, Visual arts background , positions,and whether to perform temporary curriculum guidelines of preschool activities had an influence on the current instruction practices by preschool educators in the visual arts teaching of kindergarten. 4、Differences in the status of the visual arts teaching among preschool educators who taught visual arts teaching perception under different circumstances: Significant differences were shown in the status of the visual arts teaching by preschool educators under the circumstances where the levels of contents of instruction, teaching principles and methods, teaching and learning assessments, teaching and learning environments and resources as well as design and teaching and learning troubleds are different. 5、The Most satisfied and impressed experiences by preschool educators in Miaoli County regarding the visual arts teaching involve the following aspects: The use of various forms and mediums; Training and capacity to enhance children; Use of community resources and cultural integration; The issues into teaching and learning ; Festival activities into teaching and learning; Interaction between teachers and students and Parents; Multimedia Information technology equipment and resources, and so on. 6、The other troubled teaching above preschool educators in Miaoli County regarding the visual arts teaching involve the following aspects: from the Administrative and resource in kindergarten(Lack of a wide range of related resources, Manpower shortage,Insufficient number of teacher-student ratio , Not enough time , Space limitations , Urban-rural gap , The funds are not enough); from the preschool educators(Teaching ability is not enough,Visual arts professional competence is not enough, Learning training courses are not enough, Teaching philosophy inconsistency between colleagues); from the children(Individual differences between children, Mixed - age class, Class children with special obstacles); from the Parents(Afraid of dirty clothes, Focus on learning outcomes , Criticism creations, Parents' views intended to manipulate teaching, For visual arts teaching support low), and so on. Based on the results of the study, several concrete suggestions are provided to educational agencies, Preschools, preschool educators, as well as further studies.
