A Study of Using Community Resources in Visual Art Instruction ─Take Hsinchu County Chu-Jen Elementary School As an Example The study is based on integrated curriculum model of art, and combines community resources into visual art education of elementary school. The subject is the fifth grade in Chu-jen Elementary School, where the researcher works in. The Specific purposes of this study are as follows: 1. To explore the content of art education and community-oriented art education. 2. To design a course, which combines the community resource into the visual art education of Chu-jen Elementary School. 3. To investigate the applicability of visual art education combined with community resources through teaching activities. The purposes of this study are as follows: 1.The content of art education and community-oriented art education: The content of art education and community-oriented art education is to combine multiple community resources with students, living environment. It increases students, identification of local culture by exploring the material of the environment and history in the community. 2.A course which combines the community resource into the visual art education of Chu-jen Elementary School: The researchers designed the use of community resources, Hsinchu County Chu -jen small location of, with "beautiful feast" as the main, according to the arts and humanities curriculum goals to design curriculum, develop a "culture of beauty", "artistic beauty" "the beauty of life" and for the three courses. 3.The result of visual art education combined with community resources through teaching activities: (1)The study showed a significant result that students’ learning performances and feedbacks were positive. (2)It also revealed a significant interrelationship among course design and teaching instruction, classroom management and guidance and assessments. Finally, the practical advice and suggestions for further researches are proposed in the end.
