The purposes of this study are to investigate the current status of students’ learning motivation and learning performance in the Cooperative Technical Education Program (CTEP) in the Miaoli County High Schools, to assess the correlations between student’s learning motivation and learning performance, to examine the relationships among student’s background variables and learning performance, and to predict student’s learning performance based on the analysis of student’s learning motivation. Survey research was used in this study. Data for this study consisted of 902 high school students who enrolled in the current CTEP in Miaoli County. Three schools were selected by using the Stratified Random Sampling method according to vocational schools to give courses of occupational categories. 841 survey responses were collected; 675 out of 841 survey responses were valid. The survey completion rate was 93.2%, the survey cooperation rate was 74.8%. Six statistical methodologies were used in data analysis: Mean, Standard Deviation, T-Test, One-Way ANOVA, Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient, and Multiple Regression Analysis. The main findings of this study are presented as follows: 1、The learning motivation of the CTEP students is mostly “satisfied.” 2、The learning performance of the CTEP students is highly “satisfied.” 3、Student’s background variables showed noticeable variance in learning motivation. 4、Student’s background variables showed noticeable variance in learning performance. 5、This study showed a significant positive correlations between student’s learning motivation and learning performance in the CTEP. 6、Student’s learning motivation can efficiently predict one’s learning performance in the CTEP. This study concludes by providing recommendations for future research as well as recommendations for the educational institutions that intend to utilize and participate in the CTEP.
