Abstract
The main purpose of this study was to examine moderating effects of social identity on his relationship between sport moral disengagement, prosocial and antisocial behavior. There were 265 male participants in this study. Moral disengagement in sport scale, the prosocial and antisocial behavior in sport scale and social identity questionnaire were used in this study. Hierarchical Regression analyses revealed that: a)sport moral disengagement significantly negative predicted prosocial behaviors toward teammates, but sport moral disengagement significantly positive predicted antisocial behaviors toward teammates and opponents. b)team identity was the moderator between sport moral disengagement, prosocial and antisocial behavior. The findings support that high team identity and high sport moral disengagement would be the low antisocial behaviors toward opponents. Coaches could use team identity to decrease player’s antisocial behaviors toward opponents.
