This creative study narrates the interrelations between space and personal memories, covering all the art works made from 2010 to 2013. The personal memories in life are all analyzed and examined in creative forms and journals.
There are five chapters in this paper. In the first chapter: Introduction sets off from the recollection of moving home sparked off by roads, explores the ambiguous gathering and scattering of human relationships and reveals the self projection that is concealed behind the space. In chapter two, titled Theoretical Basis quotes the perceptual space by Ernst Cassirer, the representation of space by Henri Lefebvre, and the retentissement by Gaston Bachelard for the purpose of examining the public sense of space. Simultaneously, the analysis over the form of this art work (roads) and content (memories) as well as the creative idea in the art works containing contents similar to this study are made; examples are works by Jean Baptiste Camille Corot, Ben Aronson and Marina Cruz. In Chapter 3: Creative idea, forms of techniques, the humankind’s sense of space is made focused on my past spatial experience and the relationships between roads and oneself is narrated. In terms of the forms of techniques, “grey”,”coverage”, “grinding” are the three expressive forms that echo with my own personality. In Chapter 4: Analysis and Interpretation of the Artworks, in the series work “Memories .Roads”, using the original views in mind, the memories and the forgotten parts, I express the past life experiences in my family-of-origin and explicit how these bygone experiences have affected my choice of subjects. In “Imageries .Space”, while considering the manipulation of the media and the hand-on sensory of painting, I use a collection of materials to make up the incomplete interpretation of memories represented in “Memories.Roads“ and in closing, analyze the creative process and arrange the art form respectively. Chapter five: Conclusion concludes the creative ideas behind various series artworks, the values of art forms and an overall examination of my study. This creative study is a discovery of my subconscious self through a continuous creative process, and a yet-to-complete investigation of my essential self. I expect to keep upholding a keen and creative heart in the future.
