This thesis discusses the industrial coagglomeration of Taiwan service sectors, and provides an empirical analysis to test Marshall's theories of industrial agglomeration. First, we measure the level of industrial coagglomeration for Taiwan service sectors by adopting the index developed by Ellison and Glaeser, and find that there are more than seventy percent service industry pairs fall in the "not very coagglomerated" ranges. Next, we construct an empirical framework to exam Marshall's theories of industrial agglomeration. The results show that input-output linkage and labor market pooling both have positive and significant effects, while knowledge spillover has no significant effect on the industrial coagglomeration of Taiwan service sectors. Finally, we consider the impact of information technology on industrial coagglomeration, and we find a consistent result with the theory and empirical result developed by Kolko.
