The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among positive cognitive bias, well-being and mental health of college students in Taiwan. A questionnaire survey was adopted to collect the data. 439 college students filled out
the questionnaire. The major results were as following: (a)There were significant differences between four subscales of positive cognitive bias in college students. The unrealistic optimism was the highest while the reject imperfection was the lowest. (b)There were significant differences of positive cognitive bias between different gender and different types of college students. (c)Positive cognitive bias and well-being presented a positive correlated relationship(r=.686**), conversely, positive cognitive bias and mental (un)health revealed a negative correlated relationship(r=-.469**). (d)Emotional well-being, psychological well-being and positive affect could effectively predict positive cognitive bias with explaining 55.6% of the variance of positive cognitive bias. The results of study may serve as guides for further research about positive cognitive bias and for college counseling.
