Linguistic deviations is a way that authors can attract people’s attention so that they could successfully tell people what they want them to know, it’s very common in the commercials and novels. Wang shi-jei proposed that deviation is defined relative to zero in 1996. If we see zero as a norm of linguistic using, deviation could be any kinds of formation. If we see “wife” as a common use, then in Chinese, there are some words which are the deviation forms of wife like nei-ren, ai-ren, lau-po, chien-nei, who cooked, kid’s mom, and so on. This article used eight types of deviations which proposed by Geoffrey Leech in 1969. They are phonological deviation, lexical deviation, semantic deviation, grammatical deviation, deviation of register, graphological deviation, dialectal deviation, and deviation of historial period. Chinese is the official lauguage in Taiwan, so Taiwanese and Hakkanese are defined as dialects. This article analyzed the deviations in “A Thousand Moons on a Thousand Rivers”, dialectal deviation is one of its features. Compare with “A Thousand Moons on a Thousand Rivers”, the dialectal deviation in “The Ox-Cart for Dowry” is also one of its features. But their own writing styles brought the readers different feelings, one is elegant, simple, and touched and the other is a satire and hard to read, what they want to tell are different. Although they used dialectal deviation in their writing, they have their own features.
