Xin En Huang is a contemporary physician writer who mainly focuses on writing proses. “Nomadic Doctor” is the first anthology of Xin En Huang. It records his life on the stage of intern doctor, medical officer, and resident doctor. He traveled around the eastern, northern, southern region of Taiwan, and even far to NanSha Island. He also has several different identities of being a doctor, author, son of a man, soldier, and writer. This book demonstrates Huang’s constant change and nomadic life. The research explores the theme of this book “Nomadic Doctor”. It includes five chapters as following. Chapter One: Introduction.It expounds the purpose, method, steps and scope of the research. Chapter Two: Writing Process of the Writer and His Literary Concepts. It explains how Huang opens the door of creation and the direction of writing. He has the dual identity of physician and writer. However, he doesn’t want to limit the topics of his writing only on medical care, but also discusses more social issues, so that readers can know furthuer about social phenomena. Chapter Three: Nomadic Coordinate. This book records the shift of Huang in the land, mental stage, and identity. It summarizes the feelings and enlightenment of Huang during the period. It includes his experiences in various countries, the confusion and belief in medical care, the view of dealing with others, and the reflection of the mood in different identities. Chapter Four: Social Observers in White Robes. Huang has been contributing to improving the breadth and depth of writing. He wasn’t complacent with the status quo, so he paid attention to the observation of social phenomena and put his observation into words. As an observer, the was a review through Huang’s witty statement. He didn’t criticize and comment on any issues, but left them for readers’ own judgment. Chapter Five: Conclusion Huang’s work unfolds his own experiences and expresses the personal feelings and opinions. It attracts empathy and resonance from readers. It also declares the observation of social phenomena and unfolds his good will towards the society. We can see the creativity and imagination in his words, which expose the innovation, humor, and warmth to readers. Also, this book displays the characteristics of Huang himself.
