Abstract Integrating Environmental Education into Visual Arts Teaching in the Upper Grades of an Elementary School
In this study, the author takes the "teacher as the researcher" action research method, explores the implementation process of the environmental education into the visual art teaching, and conducts the teaching research for the researcher's school - the upper grades of Shui-Mei elementary school in Taoyuan City. The specific research purpose is as follows: 1. To explore the integration of environmental education into the connotation of visual arts. 2. The development of a set of the upper grades of Shui-Mei elementary school of environmental education into the visual arts teaching courses. 3. Through the teaching activities to explore the environmental education into the visual arts teaching the relevance. The conclusions drawn from the purpose of the study are as follows: 1. The integration of environmental education into the connotation of visual arts. To the campus ecology for the resources of environmental education courses, and students close to life; through the visual arts course teaching, so that students have a deeper understanding of their own campus, and further to the campus recognition and belonging. 2. To the upper grades of Shui-Mei elementary school as the object of environmental education into the visual arts teaching courses. The researchers designed the use of Taoyuan City, Yangmei District, the Shui-Mei elementary school campus ecological resources, "I love my school ~ Shui-Mei " as the theme, according to the art and humanities curriculum goals to design courses, the development of "discovery of Shui-Mei" "creation Shui-Mei "and" show Shui-Mei "three units. 3. The implementation of environmental education into the visual arts teaching results. (1) According to the analysis of school student's work and feedback, more than 85% of the school students have achieved the expected goal of this study, showing the applicability of environmental education into visual art teaching. (2) Based on the observation and review of teaching, it is found that more than 85% of the schoolchildren are expected to achieve the goal of this study, such as curriculum design and teaching, class management, peer interaction and learning assessment.
Finally, this study is based on the results of the study, curriculum design, curriculum implementation and follow-up research recommendations.
