Purpose: To compare differences among systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and mean arterial pressure one hour after single bouts of aerobic interval exercise in three modes. Methods: Eighteen overweight and obesity male college students were recruited. Each subject underwent three modes of aerobic interval exercise in counterbalanced order. Before exercise, baseline systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure must be measured, and the data were converted to mean arterial pressure. Mode A: 6 x 160-sec bout at 90% VO2max, separated by 108-sec of active recovery at 50% VO2max; Mode B: 4 x 240-sec bout at 90% VO2max, separated by 180-sec of active recovery at 50% VO2max; Mode C: 3 x 320- sec bout at 90% VO2max, separated by 270-sec of active recovery at 50% VO2max. Blood pressure was measured every 10-min for one hour following aerobic interval exercise. Experimental treatment was separated by at least one week. Repeated measures two-way ANOVA were used to test for interactions between three modes and systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and mean arterial pressure in one hour after exercise. The significance level was set at α= .05 Results: There was no interaction between three modes and post exercise in one-hour systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and mean arterial pressure. The baseline systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and mean arterial pressure were significantly different between post exercise in 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60-min systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and mean arterial pressure (p< .05). Conclusion: Single bout of aerobic interval exercise after one-hour systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and mean arterial pressure are significantly lower than baseline blood pressure, results decreased blood pressure after aerobic interval exercise.
