Yang, Qi-Yuan (1547-1599) was a controversial Confucian scholar in the Ming Dynasty. Confucianists criticized him in the late Ming Dynasty that his ideology is unclear between Confucianism and Buddhism. Current researches on his ideology are mostly focused from a religious or a politiccal perspective. This thesis researches further on its ideological to provide a consistent interpretation. Therefore, this thesis is based on the three main themes: the root and the branches, the ending and the beginning; the first and the last, which are the major points of the "Great Learning" Qi-Yuan Yang (Fu-Suo Yang) highly valued. Yang, Fu-suo's ideology was inherited from Luo, Jinxi's "comprehensive" philosophy, who was the Confucian master. Yang’s ideology has the academic characteristics of "one and two; two and one", such as "oneness of the roots and the branches", " oneness of the end and the beginning", " oneness of the first and the last ", "oneness of the sense and the sensibilty", "oneness of the Saints and the mortals", "oneness of the Saints and the Sages in terms of the hierarchy" and "oneness of the moment ". Thefore, oneness is both "true self." and "filial piety”. "True self" represents the know-how, and "filial piety" is the practice. Then, "the Unity of All Things in the Universe" is the result. The self cultivation in any moment, and any place is feasible. The stage of "easy to know and easy to practice" can be achieved. It is the achievement of “Internal Enlighteness”, and “the Mean of the WAY”.
