Department of Commerce限令和
Amid the US-China tech war, US trade sanctions against China have severely impacted the global server manufacturing industry. This paper will use the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) competitiveness rankings of 63 countries (based on over 200 statistical and survey indicators) and SWOT (SWOT: Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of Vietnam, Thailand, Mexico, and Taiwan, thus advising on how Taiwan's server industry can meet the challenges of investing in these countries.
Additionally, using PEST analysis (Political, Economic, Social, and Technological) of Taiwan's server manufacturers facing U.S. Department of Commerce restrictions and geopolitical challenges, the thesis recommends strategies such as (1) diversifying supply chains, (2) global decentralized manufacturing layouts, and (3) Mexico's short-term supply chain" local manufacturing” to achieve optimal customer engagement. By enhancing Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) and controlling production costs, while strengthening R&D capabilities, nurturing technical talent, and investing in overseas production facilities, Taiwan can maintain its leading global position.
