Rapid technological innovation and the widespread adoption of the internet have driven the development of cloud services, which have become more mature and diverse over the past decade. The emergence of generative AI in 2023 has highlighted AI's advantages in automated learning and content creation, prompting businesses to consider AI integration to reduce errors, enhance competitiveness, and increase efficiency.
Successful AI implementation requires robust cloud services and computing power, making cloud services a crucial option for enterprises' information systems. On-premises information system integrators must adapt to these changes, identifying opportunities presented by cloud services rather than just impacts. This study investigates how integrators can enhance their key resources and core competencies to become the preferred choice for enterprises.
Our research identifies the top three reasons enterprises choose cloud services: flexibility in meeting temporary information needs, real-time information synchronization across offices, and support for business expansion and competitiveness. The top three concerns against cloud adoption are data protection regulations, risks of business interruption due to provider outages, and undisclosed multi-cloud migration costs.
Through interviews with enterprise clients, this study explores the value propositions of cloud services, the benefits and drawbacks of their use, and the impact on on-premises information system integrators. It provides insights into the current state and external environment of the information system integration service industry and offers development recommendations.
