本創作論述「無用之用」透過細木作之工藝創作「類家具」，探討有用與無
用的意義與價值。筆者由於年幼時的內心刺激，造就自身不想成為落後他人的失
敗者，一直渴望成為一個有用的人，渴望開拓屬於自己的一片天，然而現實中的
我仍處在舒適圈內，看著朋友們進入陌生的環境，告訴我外面世界的黑暗與內心
的無力感，才明白屬於我們世代該面臨的議題與現象。厭世代來臨，才發現從小
父母灌輸的「有志者事竟成」觀念並不管用，大時代經濟環境差，儘管每天熬夜
加班卻還是無法獲得相對的酬勞，種種的無奈感與無力感，導致厭世心態產生。

筆者透過莊子「無用之用」的哲學，發現套用到今日的厭世代，可以為厭世
代族群找尋內心解套的方法，也透過「無用之用」的邏輯，創作系列作品，筆者
期望透過創作，翻轉人們對有用與無用的思考價值，同時藉由作品，鼓勵厭世代
族群試著認同自我存在價值。

本創作論述中筆者將會以細木作工藝之技法，創作介於有用與無用之間的
「類家具」，試圖詮釋「無用之用」的價值，將「無用之用」的哲學思想，轉化
為實體物件，透過此創作論述的過程分析，完成四組系列，共二十二件作品，以
及成果作品展覽的推廣，傳遞筆者想要訴說的訊息，試圖為化解今日社會的世代
對立，搭起一座溝通的橋樑。

The “usefulness of uselessness” discussion in this creation uses the “semi-furniture” craft creation of wood joinery to explore the significance and value of usefulness and uselessness. Agitated at a young age, the author yearned to become a useful person and carve out a niche of her own, rather than became a loser lagging behind others. In reality, she remained in her comfort zone. Seeing friends entering an unfamiliar environment one by one, they told me the darkness of the outside world and their inner helplessness. It was then I realized the issues and phenomena our generation was facing. With the advent of the “generation of weariness”, I found out that the concept of “Where there is a will, there is a way” my parents had always taught me could not work. In the times of economic downturn, working overtime around the clock does not come with the pay deserved. All the feelings of helplessness and powerlessness resulted in my world-weary mentality.

The author discovered that by applying the philosophy of Zhuangzhi’s “the usefulness of uselessness” to today’s generation of weariness, it helps the generation of weariness to find ways to solve their inner problems. In addition, through the “usefulness of uselessness” logic, a series of work creation were created. The author hopes to overturn people’s ideological value of usefulness and uselessness through the creation. At the same time, through the work creation, the generation of weariness are encouraged to find the value of self-existence.

In this creation discussion, the author adopted the wood joinery craft techniques to create “semi-furniture” between usefulness and uselessness. An attempt was made to interpret the value of “the usefulness of uselessness”. The philosophical thinking of the “usefulness of uselessness” was converted into physical objects. Through the analysis of the process of creation discussion, four series were completed, with 22 work creations in total. Moreover, through the promotion of work creation exhibition, the message that the author hoped to convey was delivered, which attempts to resolve the opposition of generation in today’s society, and to build communication bridges.
