This study aims to construct indicators of positive education in the preschool, develop a positive education scale, and evaluate the actual performance of positive education in the preschool through the scale. First, this study referred to relevant literature and researches to establish the connotation and levels of positive education in the preschool, drew up positive education indicators in the preschool initially, and established expert validity through scholars’ review. Based on this, pre-test questionnaires were made. Second, this study used effective samples after the first and second pre-tests to analyze and establish the reliability, validity and factor structure of the scale’s questions and completed the preparation of the formal scale. Finally, this study conducted the measurement with this scale, and analyzed samples of 707 preschool educators in public kindergartens. The conclusions were: (1) positive education indicators in the preschool include six levels that are “positive emotion”, “positive engagement”, “positive relationship”, “positive meaning”, “positive accomplishment” and “positive health” and 26 indicators; (2) the positive education scale has good adaptability, reliability and validity; (3) the positive education indicators in the preschool have performed well as a whole or at each level, and “positive health” has achieved best. This study proposed suggestions according to the conclusions to provide reference for related units of pre-school education and future researchers.
