Taiwan is a thriving country in East Asia. It has transitioned its economy from agriculture to manufacturing and in the recent decade is considered an innovation hub in the industries of digital technology, cybersecurity, medical technology, green energy, AI, Smart Manufacturing, and Circular Economy. For this purpose, Taiwan has dedicated resources for R&D and the development of a Startup Ecosystem that is focused on these strategic industries. On the other hand, Taiwan is facing problems of an aging population and Human Capital Flight for which it has developed policies to attract immigrant professionals and also to enhance its competitiveness by becoming a bilingual country by 2030. 3% of the population of Taiwan are immigrants and most of them are blue collars. It is known that entrepreneurship incentives the economy of a country by creating jobs and adding value to products and services to be more competitive in a global market. This research has the purpose to use a mixed approach to investigate the characteristics of the immigrant entrepreneurs in Taiwan and what factors on an individual, firm, and environmental level promote a process of recognition of business opportunities in Taiwan. This research also provides five themes about factors that foster and constrain immigrant entrepreneurship in Taiwan.
