“Wide world of Succulent” includes my artworks from 2017 to 2021. The whole world is an enormous organism through observation and imagination. Of course, a few decays and growths have been included in the formative process. The flesh and blood symbolize the organic bodies and ruined as well as saturated concepts, which compose the main image. Most of the pictures are presented in a flesh-like state, corresponding to the transformation of the flesh and blood of giants and Gods in myths around the world into all substances. These diverse brushstrokes and lines in paintings grow along with the imaging world, which implies that geographical environments, creatures, buildings, and objects may have been formed at the beginning of the world. This statement will include five chapters. In the first chapter, “Introduction”, I’ll describe how I establish my art context from the research motivation, the content of my artworks, as well as research methods. In the second chapter “Viewing, Thinking,' and Objects”, I’ll frame the specific objects in the picture through my observation and imagination. The seeing and thinking from my surroundings layout twining layers gradually. In Chapter III, “Mirrors/ Learning From Other Artists”, I’ll introduce artists I have referenced to refine my artworks. In chapter IV, “Wide world of Succulent”, I will divide my works into two sections: In the color section, various organisms and creatures surrounding environments transform into the form of a series of fleshy sculptures; and in the black and white section, lines and entanglements evolve various folk style paintings and chaotic images into a figurative space. In the final chapter V, “Conclusion”, I will organize a series of my works as a general summary of the study and research stage. iv My expectation for the future is being cautious from the start till the end. I feel grateful for a lot of help from my family, friends and the world. |
