In recent years, China's animation industry has gradually recovered. The newly released animation works also have Chinese national characteristics, but to a large extent they only imitate and copy national elements, without in-depth exploration of the intrinsic value of the story. In July 2019, "Ne Zha" was released, setting a new record for China's animation box office with an ultra-high box office of 50.35 billion (RMB), ranking third in China's movie box office. The success of "Ne Zha" is of great significance in the history of Chinese animation. At present, more and more insightful people in China realize the importance of "nationality" to Chinese animation. Nowadays, Chinese animation is constantly exploring and developing on the road of "nationality element". This article takes "nationality" as the starting point, and conducts an in-depth analysis and research on "Ne Zha". Through the analysis of the external visual elements and the internal spiritual elements, as well as the comparison with related film and television works, it is found that With the development of the culture of the times and the transformation of the audience's aesthetic concepts, Chinese animation incorporates character modeling, scene settings, music design, and values that are more in line with modern public aesthetics into the works. The adaptation of the traditional classic story of "Ne Zha" not only creatively interprets Chinese national culture, promotes the national development strategy of Chinese animation films, but also reflects the unique role of animation films in spreading national culture.
