Abstract
The thesis takes works created during September, 2017 and August, 2019 as the research object. They mainly described that when faced with external stress, the author would find another familiar way to release negative emotions. And this familiar way often involves complex factors. With the involvement of personal complex, the author used his imagination to change shapes and colors to present the image that satisfy the author’s psychological needs. Thereby, he could cure himself through the process and release his inner desire. The concept of “complex” is interpreted by Carl Gustav Jung’s Analytic Psychology, combined with relevant theories of art therapy and solitude. Also four artists are discussed for the illumination of my works. The author explores what people want to do when they encounter negative emotions by examining his own creation process and final works. The Illusion Series includes works the author completed in his early stage. Works of this series contain the author’s ambivalence, disappointment and desire for recognition while facing the strange environment. Cyborg of Portrait Series mainly reflects the solitude shared by all human beings. The creation of this series is just like an emotional vent. During this expressive process, the author achieves self-comfort and care for humanity. In the end of the thesis, the author summarizes the developmental context of his own creation and his prospection for future creation.
