This study aims to explore the using of taking elaboration strategies into synthetic method teaching of phonetic symbols for aboriginal first-grade students in elementary school. Three aboriginal first-grade students in elementary school would be the respondents in the research while adopting the research method of action research of teaching phonetic symbols.The purposes of this research is according to the instructional design,the process of teaching and the professional development of the teacher.Data were collected by interviews,classroom observations,diary,students’worksheets and phonetic symbols test. Some findings were found as follows: 1.The using of taking elaboration strategies into synthetic method teaching of phonetic symbols for aboriginal first-grade students in elementary school can help to learn the phonetic symbols. 2.In this teaching,the students still need to practice more about spelling and mixing mistakes. 3.In this teaching,the teacher can use flexible time to extend class time or take the remedial instuction. 4.In this teaching,the teacher can use individualizes teachniques for each student. 5.In this teaching,it is very important to parents and teachers to accompanied with the aboriginal first-grade students . 6.In this teaching,elaboration and correction of teaching is very important to teachers. The implications of findings are discussed and the recommendations are proposed for the future researchers.
