寬頻固網終端設備市場由2000年的爆炸性發展到目前成長放緩，依照產品生命週期的發展，已經走到了成熟市場，是否已經要走入衰退期？

在趨近飽和的市場裡，電信終端設備標案競爭更加激烈，而在產業鏈中存活的廠商如何能存活在競爭激烈的市場下？透過家家戶戶都有的黑盒子－電信終端設備（Customer Premise Equipment，簡稱CPE）為探討主題，透過五力分析對電信運營商，系統設備商，晶片供應商進行討論。另外，5G時代來臨對寬頻固網產業的發展產生的影響， 本文就以近二十年來全球網通終端設備市場的發展變化，探討寬頻固網產業的未來發展。

Market demand for fixed broadband has increased rapidly since 2000, but slowing in growth more recently. Accounting for the product life cycle theory, the fixed broadband industry has approaching the maturity stage. Does that mean that this market will begin a downward slide? The market for telecommunication terminal equipment is seriously competitive due to the approach of market saturation. How can a business then survive in this highly competitive industry? This paper discusses the development of fixed broadband by CPE, using the Five Forces Model to analyze the market environment, i.e., the telecom operator/internet service provider, network equipment providers, and network IC designer. In addition, advanced mobile broadband 5G is coming. Will it affect the ongoing development of the fixed broadband industry? This article will examine the worldwide networking CPE market in the last 20 years to discuss the future of fixed broadband overall.
