在智慧型手機、5G、高校能運算、AI、AR/VR、IOT、自動車、智慧製造等多元應用發展與高科技的應用需求下,半導體在過去10年快速的發展,已為先進科技運用的基礎產業,也加快了高科技的普及率。近1~2年半導體持續的發展,可是已經可以從一些現象觀察到成長的動能已經在緩慢,對於先進製程的投資,大多數的廠商保持觀望的態度,全世界最新的五奈米製程而言,只有三家大廠還在持續投資。半導體產業在成長動能趨緩的情況,如何透過內外部的創新,訂定不同的策略持續公司的成長,是接下來5到10年的重要的議題。

半導體製造與設備商在技術創新與成本的商業考量之下,如何再延續摩爾定律,這是未來發展重大的一挑戰與需解決的議題之一。本研究透過企業成長週期,以及創新模式的探討,加上產業未來可能趨勢與變化分析,找出半導體設備創新與策略方向。

本論文的研究方法,經由個案分析的方式來研究半導體微影設備商艾斯摩爾 (ASML) 成長模式曲線、商業模式,創新模型分析其與漢微科的合併案。研究結果顯示,艾斯摩爾技術上追趕著摩爾定律,商業模式鎖定高階市場,不斷地推出激進式創新的產品,創造新的創新動能,同時藉由併購來強化技術堡壘、整合解決問題的技術,開創新的市場,加大與競爭對手在先進製程距離。對於成熟的製程與市場,艾司摩爾的產品策略相對較不強勢。本論文希望能透過理論模型分析實際的個案,幫助半導體領域相關的公司,訂定短、中期的產品、成長策略規劃參考依據。
Under the demands for high-tech applications such as smart phones/5G/High performance computing power/Artificial Intelligence(AI)/ Argument Reality (AR) / Visual Reality(VR) / Internet Of Things (IOT) / Automotive and smart manufacturing. In past decade, The semiconductor industry has developed rapidly. It becomes a foundation of advanced technologies and also accelerated the adoption of high technology. In recent 1 to 2 years, The development of semiconductors has continued, but the growth has been slowed down that can be observed from some phenomena. For the investment in advanced processes, most manufacturers do not take aggressive action as use to be. For instance, The latest five nanometer processes in the world. Only three largest companies are still investing. With the growth momentum of the semiconductor industry slowing down, how to formulate different strategies to sustain company growth through internal and external innovations is an important issue for the next 5 to 10 years.

Considering technological innovation and cost, How could semiconductor manufacturers and equipment suppliers continue Moore's Law. This is a major challenge for the future development and need to be resolved. This paper studies theory of innovation and strategy in semiconductor equipment through the company's growth cycle and the exploration of innovative models, plus analysis of possible future trends and changes in the industry. To define a direction of innovation and strategy to fulfill future demands.

The research method of this thesis is to analyze the “growth model curve”, “business model” and HMI merger case of ASML (Semiconductor lithography equipment supplier) through case study methodology. The results of the study show that ASML’s product roadmap is following with Moore's Law, the business model is targeting on high-end markets. It constantly introduces radical innovative products to keep momentum . At the same time, ASML works on merging and acquisitions to build a wall by technologies and providing comprehensive solution package for problem solving. In order to open up new markets and increase the distance with competitors in advanced manufacturing processes. For mature processes and markets, ASML's product strategy is relatively less strong. This paper intended to analyze actual cases through theoretical models, help related companies in the semiconductor field, formulate short-term, medium-term products and growth strategy defining.
