In recent years, many technology industries have discovered the speed of checkout in the retail industries; and pondered how to enable consumers to speed up checkouts without queues when shopping at retail stores. In order to face the future population aging, shortage of manpower and lower labor costs, as well as the collection of consumer consumption data, unmanned shops and quick checkout stores have emerged in recent years. The whole process of consumers entering retail stores in the future is different from what we used to think in the past. The problem of checkout speed also allows retailers to rethink spending and checkout processes. The most important change is the way consumers pay their bills and shorten the time they spend in queues. In the past, large shopping malls and retail outlets, checkout could only be conducted in front of the cash register counter and then be paid by credit card or cash payment. Cash register counters often need to be operated by several cashiers, on the manpower. The increasing manpower cost, aging population and shortage of manpower will be the salary cost burden for the retail industry. At present, many technology companies have seen the rapid check-out technology and consumer consumption data collection in the retail industry. What the retail industries discover and pay attention to is not only the value of the consumer's own checkout, nor is it confined to the checkout process itself. There will also be many changes in the personnel management in the retail industry. Today, many technology companies offer mobile payment services, but this attempt to replace credit card payments with mobile phone payments will not change the way what most consumers pay after consumption. The operation of mobile payment services is also the one of the reasons why consumers are reluctant to try. When a quick checkout system is established, customers can quickly check out no matter how many goods they buy. They do not need cashiers to pick up each product, scan barcodes, put down products, collect paid cash, and operate card payments those repeated and time-consuming actions. Only using the App payment system built-in the smart phone, the name and price of shopping goods in a shopping cart will be displayed on the screen of the cash register system, within a few seconds. This will greatly shorten the waiting time for queues. The purpose of this study is to design a quick checkout application that was built-in smart phones to not only allow consumers to be free of queuing up and check out quickly when shopping in retail stores, but also to reduce the configuration of checkout manpower for retailers. |
